MCIOB is the Chartered Membership grade of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), recognising professionals in construction and construction management: delivery, quality, safety, sustainability and the management of the built environment.
It is a construction-management route. It is not an Engineering Council route and it is not the same as Chartered Engineer (CEng). Each is awarded by a different body, against different standards, for a different kind of work.

CEng is UK professional registration for engineers, awarded by a licensed engineering institution against UK-SPEC under the Engineering Council. They are different frameworks and neither automatically converts to, or replaces, the other.
